Photos from Athens

We were fortunate to have beautiful weather for our three days in Athens. (Spring is beautiful everywhere, it seems.) Here are some photos from our hike up to the Acropolis, and our visit to the National Archaeological Museum!

So sad that we are commenting on our own blog entries!

So when you got to Lisbon without knowing a soul, how did you go about finding a new home?

Please quit scanning postcards and trying to pass them off as your own photos. I know ‘too good to be true’ when I see it.

Our current 1-month-only apartment was found by looking up listings on the internet. It could have been (a popular site for those in our situation).

We sent a few emails and found it to be available. When we got into the Lisbon airport we bought new sim cards for our international cell phones (they’re cheap outside the US!), supplied her with our new phone numbers, and she called us to take a look at it. We found it on the map, met her, took a look, and rented the place.
We have to do the same (or similar) process again before May is over, unfortunately. Hopefully Sue will be able to find more info at her school to help the process.

Okay. I’m officially jealous now. Not dangerous jealous, just a tad envious. And pleased for you. :)

Wow GREAT photos of Athens. I remember when Dad and I were there (he was at a NATO conf.) and I did more site seeing than he but we did a great deal together. Wonderful memories! I can’t imagine why we never returned, esp. to Corfu.
